6. but sure enough at christmas tide we all may jovial be  
7. this is the time when christ did come that we might happy be  
8. so listen all ye gentles to what we now shall say  
9. and take in kindness what we do to celebrate this day  
10. saint george the doctor and the turk are here together met  
11. the doctor has his physic and the knights swords are sharp set  
12. the one will kill the other and the doctor raise him up  
13. and then we all shall happy be with his christmas cup  
14. and robin hood and little john will pass the beer pot round  
15. for two more jolly chaps on earth there never yet were found  
16. so ladies and gentlemen we pray you give good cheer  
17. to old father christmas for he comes but once a year  
18. here comes i saint george the knight  
19. who with the pagans used to fight  
20. and with my sword and spear and valiant shield  
21. can make a host of adversaries yield  
22. i swear tis true for though i am so pliant  
23. in battle i m as stout as any giant  
24. and though i am so thin can eat a calf  
25. and yet not fill my belly no not half  
26. whoever doubts my word just let him come  
27. i ll slice him till he s blind and deaf and dumb  
28. here comes i the turkish knight here comes i that turkish knight
29. come from turkish lands to fight just come from that turkish land to fight
30. with brave saint george if he is here 1. if king george do meet me here

31. and if his heart don t quake with fear
