Report of a former ploughboy, recalling in 1953 Plough Monday
in Dry Doddington, Lincs., up to 1894. The play is described but
no dialogue is given. The cast comprised: Tom Fool, the Recruiting
Sergeant, the Ribboner/Farmer's Boy, the Lady, Dame Jane, Beelzebub, the Doctor,
and Hopper Joe. After the play there was singing, dancing and jigging.
The proceeds funded a feast, drinks during rehearsals, with a surplus
of 1s 3d cash for each of the actors.
