This article aims to make readers aware of the decline of Christmas
Guysers' plays on the Notts./Derby border, and the reasons for it. Ways are
suggested in which the continuance of the plays can be encouraged. The need to
keep a written and photographic record of the plays for future generations is
stated, and information requested. This article was originally submitted to the
'Eastwood and Kimberley Advertiser', but was also syndicated to this sister
newspaper.
