Most 10km grid squares contain a mix of records with full texts, fragments and no text. This map plots the highest grade only for each 10km grid square.

It seems likely that the resultant distribution pattern reflects the intensity of collecting by individual folklorists in particular areas rather than relative popularity of the plays, except for the larger areas without any plays at all.
