*Text (37 lines) of a monologue - all that remains of a Guysers' play - recited at Christmas by "Bulldog" Beale in the pubs of New Houghton, Derbys., and Pleasley and Shirebrook, Notts. He first performed the play in about 1927, and was still reciting the monologue in 1971. The text is transcribed from a tape recording and field notes. The characters mentioned in the monologue are; an introducer, Saint George, Doctor and Bellzebub.
